I now have quite a collection of pouches with just one or two more cut out.
And when decluttering I found these blocks illustrating basic patchwork units. I think I'll make more to make a three by four quilt joined QAYG .

Next time I am doing a "Little People" demonstration at Quay so I have unearthed the group quilt fom 2012. Now to make some step by step samples.
And I completed the fourth ruler and carry bag for our quilt show. When I took them to the Chartham Hatch three of them bought one so now there will be just this one at the show.
We had a lovely day holding up quilts and pricing them. I bought one of Maggie's but it will be shown with a red sticker.
Judi who hasn't sewn for quite some time has made a really interesting quilt.
There was an interesting Show & Tell at Quay. Last time Colin demonstrated Double Wedding Ring. Now two weeks later he brought the finished top which uses lots of shirtings.

Roz brought a purchased Mola which employed so many clever techniques.
John showed a heavily manipulated piece made to 12" guideline for a Men Who Quilt exhibition.
Jenny who is following the beginners' class brought her completed Martha Washington block.
And I brought the Demelza raffle quilts, another reprise, in order to sell tickets.

Pippa demonstrated a little plant pot holder which morphed into a talk about Suffolk Puffs, Dorset Buttons and other experiments.

I have made pouches in the past whereby linings are sewn separately and the pouch is finished off with no seams showing. This was made from a kit and was much quicker and easier as lining and outer are sewn together and inside seams finished off with a zigzag. As I am making these for our tombola I will set to and do a batch using the same method.

I have finished binding the ruddy (colour) Shape Sorter from Karen Lewis' project for the Thread House Academy Just the label to do now. I am not sure whether to put it on the sale table at our Demelza Show. It will have a turn on the back of my sofa.

I didn't plan ahead and found I had made two quilts not one and arranging the blocks proved tricky. I am happy withe edges less so with the centre. It's not everyone's cup of tea.
Meanwhile on the bed is a beautiful indigo and soft white quilt from c.1900-1912 found in a Bristol Attic. It's thin and light and just right for June days. The intensive quilting is very fine.

It has been a busy week with a trip to Sissinghurst where there was plenty of inspiration in Vita Sackville-West's abundant garden at its height.

We went in a coach with the Men of Kent and the Kentish Men!
Back at home I am working through my stock of Simple Marks fabric this time with snowballed paired rectangles. Half the snowballs are pressed in the other half out so they nest. The rectangles are joined with flat seams.
