This is a sewing tidy to place under your machine with the pockets hanging down in front.
The mat under the machine protects table surfaces and reduces noise. The three pockets make it easy to keep track of your scissors and unpicker and any other items.

Old and New at FOQ
Most of all I enjoyed the Guild's Family Connections gallery which included the sort of quilts I like and would like to emulate.
I always photograph quilts using shirtings and Marilyn Miles Recycling of Stripes quilt seemed very much in the spirit of older quilts.

Back with the U3A
I was very pleased to sell 10 quilts, two bags and a table mat and also found good homes for 4 more quilts as gifts but I still have a pile on my rocking chair to put away.
Earlier this week the U3A class started up again and I took some show & tell pictures.

Quilts for Sale
No, not on this blog but our St Stephen's Residents' association is having a jumble trail involving more than 30 houses, jumble but an arts and crafts element too. I am taking the chance to try to sell some of my surplus quilts as storage is becoming a problem and some have been made for sheer enjoyment rather than to keep a finished product. I've arranged them in rough size piles, not necessarily different prices.
If I sell one I shall be pleased! Hopefully we'll get rid of our jumble and no longer needed children's stuff from up in the loft. None of its going back up but will be off to charity shop or dump as applicable.

Smaller pieces - the animal squares were tucked over my grandchildren as I read to them. |

Yet more from Hever
Jan Godding curated a special exhibition of Pat Salmon's quilts mostly done by hand and made over a course of a long life, a founder member of the Guild and the original circle.
A detail of Pat's Hexagon quil, the one she considered her first. |
Chris Stewart's Liberty Round Robin started in 1995. She contributed the centre and three outer borders. |
Autumn Diamonds by Elizabeth Coates started at a group woup workshop. |
I think this is "My Garden" by Louise Bell. |
Pat Samon's magnificent hexagon quilt. Even for her first quilt she composed an original piece from traditional elements. Made in 1973. |
Another three
Three very different quilts here.
Judi Kirk's modern triange quilt with modern style walking foot quilting.. From Pam and Nicky intott's Rulers book. |
Jennifer Viner's Soleiado Stash using bundles of fabric from the Souleido Museum in Tarascon, Provence. |
One of the two quilts by Daphne Barker in the show. I always look out for her distinctive large pieces which she quilts herself. |

To Hever on Sunday
Beverley Brawn's beautiful applique quilt using lots of Kaffe Fassett fabrics. First Visitors' Choice |
I returned To Hever on Sunday to enjoy its last day and see all the quilts hanging. I took more photos of mine and the ones I took there. I was delighted that Beverley's won first Visitor's choice and even more delighted that I won third. Not bad for a single car load. Best of all was being presented with my envelope by Jennie Lewis, first organiser of Hever and of a lovely retreat I used to attend. She was my room mate. It was good to see her there after a long gap now that she's moved away.

Hever Time
On Thursday 1st Alan and I went to Hever delivering quilts and helping to set up ad hang. By the time we left my two smaller ones were in place but the larger ones were still to go. I may get better pictures when I go again on Sunday.

This was one of the quilts I delivered, a wonderful Kim Maclean design magnificently made by Beverley Brawn and Quilted by my friend, Maggie Breakspear. |
This is mine also longarmed by Maggie and promised for sale in October. It's one of my stack and whackery squares quilts and uses a shell patterned fabric by Philip Jacobs |
This looked remarkably good from a distance.. It will be up for sale at our local St Stephen's jumble trail Saturday 10th. |
