Pogles Wood Quilters' Show

This was just for one day in St Michael and All Angels Church in Harbledown to raise money for the church. There are only six of them and the level of work was phenomenal. I had a lovely time going round then traders and a spot of homemade cake (they can bake too!) in the church hall then down to the Coach and Horses with three friends then back for coffee and a spot more cake (!) in the church hall, a wait for the raffle  (no luck) and another round of the quilts.

Production line

Quilts by the layer

I felt I made progress today; I finished hand stitching down the mitred corners on the border of the Sunny quilt, then finished the last binding stitches on the Siblings Together charity quilt and the hand quilting on the Give and Take quilt, my grungy favourite. I will wash and face the latter, take Sunny to Maggie my longarmer friend for quilting and post off the Siblings together one.

Carrie

Carrie collected a pile of her quilts which Mandy had longarmed. She often makes very large pieces but currently she is making smaller charity ones.

Quilt Retreat

Sewing in the Chapel

The day after Oast nine friends travelled from various parts of the country to Norfolk for our long delayed quilt retreat. Lots of UFOs to complete as well as exciting new projects. We have a great space though without our usual kitchen facilities. However we have come armed with a few supplies of our own.

Nibbles

I set out to sash and join my four patch florals only to be stymied by not enough fabric to complete the last row. It is obtainable though so I will order more when I return home. Once done I shall have Maggie long arm quilt it.

I am very pleased with the look of of the modern log cabin blocks started in a workshop with Mandy Munroe.

Now I've made five more Westminster strip blocks and  joined them to complete a project started in Houston with Jane Hall. Yet another project to quilt.
