I really enjoyed the Kenyan exhibit and particularly the 4 Salama Mamas work which is in aid of the school their children attend and produces an income too. Their quilts are based on the Siddi method working from the outside in a kind of reverse crazy quilting except pieces tend to be more regular.
Fabrics used include a lot of Kangas.
Anything will do by Carol Davey Perhaps I could make one of these using Malaysian sarongs. |
