U3A Convergence pieces

Here is Janet with her canine creations

Doggy pals
We had a lovely morning at the U3A. Lots had finished their convergence pieces and Margaret showed members how to make continuous prairie points in one or two colours. Earlier in the term she had presented a bonus project of a patchwork dog and once Janet Mac. produced hers a whole litter emerged..

More from Detling

Janet Stevens: One Fabric Quilt using a Jinny Beyer fussy cut border print to great effect.
As I do a less considered stack and whakery squares technique I was interested in the
regular patterns achieved here.

Stephanie Crawley: Pansy wall hanging
I was interested in this because a Bonnie friend has just
got an embroidery machine and we watched it working at
our last meeting.

Flower Pots by Janet Keenan
I took this because I also like to quilt and then
applique and I liked her style of quilting.

Detling

For the last few years Grosvenor have mounted one of their seasonal shows at the Kent Showground, Detling. It's on a rather small scale compared with the others but much appreciated as it's much nearer  than the others. I quite like seeing several quilts by the same maker or different interpretations of the same theme.
Here are some of the ones I photographed:

Greta Fitchett: Morrocan Babouches

Lesley Brankin: By the Common

Cherry Vernon-Harcourt: Coastal Study 1

Jaqui Tobin: Sea Snake, a favourite

Sharon Gray: The Dot
